Your device is missing important security and quality fixes, the error is often experienced by computer users. This is because something went wrong. Windows 10 is updated quite often, and many of these updates are security-related. Typically, updating your PC is seamless and automatic. In some cases, there are errors that prevent this from happening, and today we’re going to look at the “Your device is missing critical security and quality fixes” error message in Windows 10.

Thanks to Microsoft, Windows 10 users receive regular updates. However, some users see an error message on their update page. The error message says ” Your device is missing critical security and quality fixes.” Usually, this type of error message is a very useful reminder for installing important updates.

How to fix this error?

  1. Open the Windows settings.
  2. Choose Update & Security .
  3. In the left pane, select Troubleshoot.
  4. Expand the Windows Update Troubleshooter and click the Run troubleshooter.

Option 2 is: 

  1. Click Start> Settings .
  2. Now go to System.
  3. Scroll all the way down on the left side of the page and click Info.
  4. Under Device Specifications, you will see System Type.
  5. Now go to the official Microsoft Update Catalog website here and download the latest SSU that matches your version.
    • After that, restart your computer and check if Windows Update work.

 

Another option is:

  1. On the Windows search box cmd, right-click on the first result and select Run as administrator to run.
  2. When the command prompt window appears, enter DISM.exe / online / cleanup-image / Restore Health one and press the Enter key .
  3. Note that the process may take a few minutes, depending on your system.
  4. Wait, is completed by the process, type SFC / scannow, and press the Enter key.
  5. When it finishes, close Command Prompt and see if Windows Update is working.

Reinstall the Windows updates

  • Click Start> Settings> Update & Security .
  • In the right pane, click View update history.

  • In the new window, select Uninstall updates.

  • From the list that appears, click the latest update for Microsoft Windows (KBxxxxxxx) and uninstall it.
  • When the process is complete, go to Windows Update and check for updates
  • You can also install the faulty update manually. In the update history, find the one that interests you and goes to the official Microsoft Update Catalog website and search for it.
