What can I do about kids vandalizing my car?

I live in the heart of the restaurant shops and bars area of my town, and people often walk through my apartment’s parking lot at night to get home. There have been numerous times when I come home and I find scratches and marks all over my hood, sometimes even footprints. People jump on and smack my hood, which makes my car alarm go off, and I’m probably annoying everyone on that side of the building. I don’t have any other options as to where I park, so what can I do?
