Take a look at the devices listed... one window or door contact and one motion. That means you can pick ONE room to put the motion into and either protect ONE window or ONE door. I work in the Monitoring Station for a local security and never have I seen someone with only 2 protection devices. Just seems ridiculus. Like here you go, which door do you think someone would most likely break into and which room. Lol! You have to have more protection then that. Most homes have a minimum of 8 zones. Some people have 30 zones. Most people like to protect every door and every room with a motion detector and at least a couple heat and/or smoke detectors. And window contacts are really not that common. Thats the whole point of a motion and/or glassbreak detector. And those monitoring costs are suprising. We charge $20 a month for residential with NO contract. Those all require 3 year contacts (yikes). Honestly, fork out the $650-$1,000 and get a FULL system in your house. That amount includes labour, parts and devices. You've been broken into once, why rely on one door and one room only protected? I hope I've helped. It was in the evening and the I had the lights off, but I wasn't asleep. I heard someone trying to pry open the back door. I ran into the living room and switched on the outside lights. It scared the burgler and I saw him high tail it out of there. . I then called several alarm companies in my city and they all gave installation and monitoring quotes. I suggest you call a home securty installer to get your questions answered. Every companies offer a free installation special, so inquire about that too.
